end of day 12

April 22nd, 2008

I’m starting to get irritable again, similar to day 3 and 4 of the cleanse.  My patience are low and temper is higher than usual.  Interested to know how tomorrow will turn out.  Better get some rest before I blow a gasket.

11 days ’till Spring - 12th day of the Master Cleanse

April 22nd, 2008

Yesterday was day 11 of the master cleanse. The day was normal outside of a some unusual bowl movements late at night which I think had something to do with not drinking enough water. I drank over a gallon of Lemon Juice and Maple Syrup, but I didn’t drink any water. I just didn’t seem to have any more room for water.

This morning I woke up without congestion which is a nice change especially this time of year. Usually in the spring my allergies start to kick up and I wake every morning hacking things up. The cleanse has really helped to keep me dry and allergy free in addition to ridding me of all the food allergies I am still unaware of.

Chasing Lemons - Master cleanse Day 10

Glad to reach Day 10 of the cleanse…the video says it all.

10 sundays to go please…

April 21st, 2008

Yesterday I spent the entire day with my son. We did the gambit of activities including rollerblading, cycling together, cycling with him siting in the trailer while i pulled him around the 3 mile circle, driving his jeep around the block, sword fighting with glowing light sabers and finally a drive around town to put him to sleep.

I was a bit irritable for parts of the day yesterday, and found myself with less patience than usual. Upon reflection, this was probably because of a few things; 1. It’s been awhile since I spent an entire day with my son where we did everything he wanted to do in a single day; and 2. I’ve never gone past 10 days on the Master Cleanse, and I’m starting to see why many don’t go past this threshold.

Day 9 - Soccer horror show

April 19th, 2008

This morning I took my son to his soccer game that we go to everyday Saturday and were very disappointed to see the other teams, very competitive parents, getting mad at their kids if they went the wrong way or didn’t kick the ball hard enough. The game really got out of hand when their coach/parent got in the face of ours, then all hell broke loose. I found myself getting very stressed and angry when one of their kids was purposely chasing down other players to elbow or hip check them to the ground…I couldn’t take it anymore after he made two of our kids cry. I completely lost my temper and told the coach to pay a little more attention to his misguided kids instead of berating them…among some other kind words. That intern caused an uproar on their side and the game that was supposed to be fun for the kids on Saturday morning, turned into a yelling match between parents.

It really makes me concerned when we as parents are taking the fun out of teaching our children the fundamentals of life through sports. My son doesn’t seem that interested in playing the game of soccer and is more about just hanging out with his friends on Saturday morning. This is the part I want my son to enjoy so we’ll stick through to the end of the season to finish what we started. Based on today’s escapades though, we will probably switch to Tae Kwon do in the future to avoid those crazy eyed parents who are living vicariously through their children. We all want our kids to do better than we did, but pushing kids to be competitive at any costs at the age of 4 and 5 is just a little disturbing and its sad to see people teaching their kids how not to have fun, forcing them to grow up too quickly.

Fell asleep early last night and forgot to take my herbal Tea…not to mention my blog entry! Today is the eighth day of the Master Cleanse and nothing out of the ordinary is happening. I’m going to go for a run this AM to see how my energy levels are, but outside of that just keep things cruising along.

Day 7 of the Master Cleanse has arrived!  Last night was a bit tough as I had some late night hunger pains but I woke up this AM feeling better than yesterday.

Day 6 of the Master Cleanse

April 16th, 2008

Today was the best day of all! My energy levels are good but a couple of times today I was feeling somewhat hungry. This is a little unusual compared to the first time i did the cleanse, as I was never hungry after day 5. It could be that I’m sitting here watching my family eat salmon and kimchi, which are two of my favorite things to eat!

I’m planning to step up my exercise regime in the next few days to see how far I can push myself on no fuel; I’m in my mad scientist phase.

MCD5 - Hunger pains away!

April 15th, 2008

Yesterday and today are more important days as far as thresholds go; it’s a bigger milestone than getting through the entire 10 days of the Master Cleanse. Energy levels are a bit low this morning, but I am not hungry or tired. I should be fine after I mix my lemon juice and maple syrup concoction.

Master Cleanse Day 4…chugging along

April 14th, 2008

Day 4 of the master cleanse has finally arrived and I am more excited about today than actually making it to day 10 or more. Day 4 is the actually the threshold and if you can make it through today, you have gotten passed the worst of it.

My overall feeling this morning is good and I slept soundly last night. I just finished a 3 mile run to see how my energy levels were testing….outside of some heavy breathing and sweating profusely…it was all good.

This is a video that is tough to swallow…
