Fell asleep early last night and forgot to take my herbal Tea…not to mention my blog entry! Today is the eighth day of the Master Cleanse and nothing out of the ordinary is happening. I’m going to go for a run this AM to see how my energy levels are, but outside of that just keep things cruising along.

Day 7 of the Master Cleanse has arrived!  Last night was a bit tough as I had some late night hunger pains but I woke up this AM feeling better than yesterday.

Day 6 of the Master Cleanse

Wednesday, April 16th, 2008

Today was the best day of all! My energy levels are good but a couple of times today I was feeling somewhat hungry. This is a little unusual compared to the first time i did the cleanse, as I was never hungry after day 5. It could be that I’m sitting here watching my family eat salmon and kimchi, which are two of my favorite things to eat!

I’m planning to step up my exercise regime in the next few days to see how far I can push myself on no fuel; I’m in my mad scientist phase.

MCD5 - Hunger pains away!

Yesterday and today are more important days as far as thresholds go; it’s a bigger milestone than getting through the entire 10 days of the Master Cleanse. Energy levels are a bit low this morning, but I am not hungry or tired. I should be fine after I mix my lemon juice and maple syrup concoction.

Master Cleanse Day 4…chugging along

Monday, April 14th, 2008

Day 4 of the master cleanse has finally arrived and I am more excited about today than actually making it to day 10 or more. Day 4 is the actually the threshold and if you can make it through today, you have gotten passed the worst of it.

My overall feeling this morning is good and I slept soundly last night. I just finished a 3 mile run to see how my energy levels were testing….outside of some heavy breathing and sweating profusely…it was all good.

This is a video that is tough to swallow…

Master Cleanse Day 3

Monday, April 14th, 2008

Today is the toughest day of all, but I feel mentally prepared for it. I had a little trouble falling asleep last night, but managed to get a good nights rest overall. Luckily it is Sunday so I am pretty much going to putter around the house and do some cleaning while my body does the funky chicken craving food. Hopefully the family takes off, as I recently realized that our lives are consumed with thoughts and discussions about food well over 50% of the time.

It’s actually very interesting to be looking from the outside-in at my life when food does not play a role on a hour by hour basis. While the first 3 days, especially now, are extremely difficult to listen to food conversations, I know by this time tomorrow I will have a whole other perspective. Today should be the last of the cranky days.

If you think it…drink it.

Day 2 of the Master Cleanse seems more difficult than the first time. I am much more irritable and seem a lot hungrier this cleanse. I was thinking to go longer this time around but I don’t know if I can go past 10 days. The purpose of exceeding the 10 days was to see how my body will react, however at this point I think I just want to reach the end. The first 3 days are the toughest, so I hope to change my mind after day 4.

cup runneth over…

Friday, April 11th, 2008

Many of my friends have been asking why in the world I am doing the Master cleanse again in less than a year. Is it a ritual, spiritual, narcissistic? The answer is partially yes to all of the above, but mostly because my body now tells me when the toxins in my body have reached critical overload. Lately I am not sleeping soundly, I feel like eating badly or sometimes late at night, my allergies are extreme (over above the time of season) and the list goes on. Now that I am in tune with my body and its functions, it is so much easier to read what my internal organs need; more importantly, what the proactive things I can do before the cup runneth over and I get sick.

Today is day one of the Master Cleanse and I’ve promised some friends and enthusiasts that I would be more clear on what I am doing this time around. Due to the popularity of Video…and because its so much easier, I am video recording the master cleanse starting with Day 1. Please enjoy and remember, I am not a doctor and flush responsibly!

one step in front of the other…

Monday, April 7th, 2008

As I prepare for the greatest challenge of my life (in fitness) to date, I am trying to figure out ways to keep things fresh, interesting and moving forward. I will soon find myself getting board running and cycling on the same roads, so I will start to find alternative areas to increase my distances every week.

The part I dread the most of my upcoming training is the swimming. It’s definitely the weakest link in my repetoire of the 3 sports, but I’m up for the challenge. The nice thing about swimming is that summer is approaching, so I will be in the pool more often to both to cool off and improve my fish racing skills.

I’m getting ready to do another 10 day cleanse to rid my body of all toxins and garbage so that I can perform at optimum levels without any encumbrances. I am thinking about video taping my cleanse this time around.

April Fools…no joke

Lots of activities in the works for both my personal and business plates this coming month. I’ve merged my company together with some of the best people on the planet and combined forces to build a fortune 500 company. This merger is one that I’ve been waiting a lifetime for and it was well worth going through all the difficulties, learning trials and tribulations of the past.

I’ve been traveling for the past few weeks for both family and business and recently attended the Natural Food and Beverage expo in Anaheim. The show was packed with food and drink of the future with a big play in organics. The shift to organic foods in the world is definitely here and there will be some big changes in the supermarket chains. With some strategic moves in product development and a solid marketing plan, we hope to take a piece of the marketplace with some of our new and exciting brands.

With all of my focus on business collaborations and new partnerships, I’ve not had any chance to play any tournament poker this year. It looks like the only event I will have an opportunity to be involved with is the World Series of Poker, provided a few things fall into place. Funding and sponsorship will play an important role in this years WSOP as I hope to represent some brands that can keep me healthy, focused and balanced during the month of June.

In addition to a month full of poker events, I will be training for the Silverman Triathlon which takes place in November. I recently made the commitment to participate in my first IronMan Triathlon just a few weeks ago and have begun training. The ideal situation is to be set up at the RIO with a mini training facility so I can run or bike on my breaks and in between play. It may prove to be a bit of a spectacle, but I dont want to miss this years WSOP or the necessary training to be ready for the Silverman. My friends, associates and partners are all working together to find me some equipment sponsors that will can help to make the month of June a little more comfortable to achieve my goals in 2008.
