Catchup day…

Monday, September 17th, 2007

Yesterday was a good day of excercising and relaxation with some meetings in between.  I road the 3 mile circle twice, once in the morning and once at night with skye, he really enjoys the ride in the trailer.  If i was training for a bike race or traithalon, I would have an advantage on race day as i’m pulling an extra 50 pounds when i ride.

I played a round of golf in the afternoon as well and although i managed to get a couple of pars I really need a few lessons so i can improve my game.  I plan on playing everyday this week as my Father-in-law is coming in from Korea this week and he loves golf.  I’ll be booking us a different course everyday this week starting on thursday.

My diet consisted mostly of juices all day and for dinner i had some rice and tofu soup to keep things consistent.  I’m not ready to experiment with any other cooked food until after i’ve done my liver cleanse, which i will probably do after my in-laws leave.  I may attempt to eat some sushi this coming week when they arrive and a few other dishes as we will be out playing golf or going to shows all week.  I havent been to the gym since Tuesday, so I may go in for a few workouts this week as my time will be occupied  with family activities.

Today was an “OK” day by my feeling barometer.  I felt like eating more than i did, but managed to get down some peanut butter and banana sandwiches prior to my 3 mile bike ride this AM.  I consumed what felt like a bottle of vitamins and supplements and I’m not if its related but my stomach felt strange most of the afternoon and around dinner time.  I was unable to figure out if it was hunger or something else but it didnt feel particularly good.  I’m going to drink some apple and carrot juice with ginger mixed in and see what that does for me, then go for an evening walk around the circle to see if it makes me feel any better.  The weather is perfect.

late to bed…early to rise

Saturday, September 15th, 2007

I went to bed at 5AM yesterday (today) and woke up at 9 for a 10AM meeting.  I didnt have time to drive down to “Go Raw”, the natural food store down the road so i drank some fresh grapefruit and a pasteurized green food drink that my wife purchased from Trader Joes.  I’m not sure how bad/good pasteurized juices are, but i’m going to find out.

I received all my books over the last few days and have found the most comprehensive information on the liver and gallbladder cleanse which I will blog for others to use without having to research like i did.  Unfortunately there is not much free or complete information on the web for exactly what to do for a natural liver and GallBladder cleanse.

I juiced up for two days by purchasing a ton of vegetables and scooted over to my friends down the street who owns a juicer.  I was going to buy a juicer but i just dont think i’ll use it after i’m done with all my experimenting and learning; unless of course I find out that I dont miss certain foods that much and my body tells me that I’m permanently allergic to meat and dairy.  At this point i’m not sure what my body likes and dislikes and i wont be introducing any Meat or Dairies until after all my cleanses are complete and i feel like i’ve experimented with everything possible.  This is a great learning experience for me as i’m becoming in tune with my body inside and out.

Ate some crackers, rice, fruit and a bean burrito at my sons school picnic today and it went down nicely (thought i might get a stomach ache).  Although it wasnt a lot of food it did feel a bit weird to eat solid foods and it actually made me feel kind of guilty.  I’ve read some literature on people who have done the MC and/or been on juicing diets for periods of time; some had difficulty making the transition back to solids for both the physical and mental reasoning.  I’ve only been on raw foods for a week and I dont want to fall into any traps where I’m afraid of solid foods or feel guilty for eating it.

Balance is a very important part of what i’m trying to accomplish with my health, and although i’m trying things out that i’ve never done before, i dont want to fix one thing but start another.  I find some vegans and herbalist’s to be somewhat extreme and for those who get great results with certain diets and formulas, sometimes lose site of balance…as i may have today.  The guilt was a slight motivator though as I took Skye out for a bikeride with the pull trailer and we had a blast around the 3 mile circle.  I may even go for a walk later too as the weather is really cooling down now.

I’m going to try and not count calories as i transition out of the liquids and back into solids, but some say its worthwhile to ensure you eat less calories than you burn.  I really dont want to get into data base spread sheets for everything i eat and lose through exercise as i dont think I’ll keep doing it long term (being realistic); unless of course i can find an easy way of doing it or create a web based program that calculates it all for me….i’ll find or build somethig for sure.

installing muscles…

Today’s workout was much better than the first 2 from an intensity level and i’m sure i’m going to be paying for it in a few days.  With 20 lbs off the  frame, i just cant help myself from wanting to push hard and make the core stronger.

It’s the end of the day and I’m stiff as expected…but feel good in that my body feels like its alive again.  I am mostly drinking veggie juice and eating fruits for most of the day with some brown rice, tofu soup (spicy), korean seaweed and kimchi for dinner.  I’m also taking the Chlorella every few hours as super food supplement and it seems to be working as my stool is turning green, which from what i’ve read is a good thing.  I’ve yet to determine what the “good thing” is, but after two weeks since starting the MC, I still have no allergies and i’m sleeping the best I have in years.

Health, Wealth and Fitness = Vife

Wednesday, September 12th, 2007

I mostly had veggie juices and fluids today with a peanut butter and whole wheat sandwich before my workout and some brown rice, kimchee(korean cabbage) and some tofu soup (spicy).  Since yesterday i started drinking 2 full glasses of water as soon as i woke up with some squeezed lemons (no maple syrup) to begin light cleansing of my liver at the start of each day.  This is followed by a glass of veggie mixed juice (mixed) 15 minutes later.  Total food for the day probably didnt total more than 1500 calories for the entire day which is extremely low especially when doing exercise, but i’m really being careful to not take in too much foods and i’m keeping a close eye on what foods will cause any allergic reaction in the AM when i wake up.

Today was yet another day of great energy levels and an incredible 2nd workout at the gym.  I almost passed out again due to low sugar levels and my low caloric intake but its all worth it as my body is producing “drug like” highs through my natural endorphins.  I’m slowly bringing back foods into my system and dont want to rush into anything as i’m doing many “self” tests on what foods my body is allergic to.  The best part of what i’ve done so far is the purification of my throat and nose (breathing with no conjestion) which has been problematic for the last 3 years; since the cleanse there is no sign of any past symptoms.

I’ve just ordered some books (raw foods, juicing, liver and gallbladder cleanse) that i think will help to continue the evolution of my new direction on health and wellness and will pull out all the information i think is valuable and revelant to my new path.  In approximately a week to 10 days i plan to do a liver and gallbladder cleanse to pass some stones that have been sitting inside me for 25 years; its about time.  I’ve read from different sources that it can be painful and tedious, however i would rather be proactive now and have a little pain than wait till later in life when my liver is not as healthy and i’m forced into surgery like millions of people after the age of 50.   I’ll keep telling myself this as i’m screaming blue murder on the toilet….argh!

1st day of the week, month…life

Tuesday, September 11th, 2007

Today was off the charts in energy levels and last night i slept the best that i have in years.  I’ve been waking up in the middle of the night for years with a lump of “something” in my throat that i could never understand or explain to doctors.  Yet after starting fresh with the MC detox and the new raw food diet, it has dissapeared.  Not only do i not wake up like a scared rabbit in the night, i dont cough up all the garbage that usually gets produced by immune system that works overtime during the night.  I am simply in awe by my new findings and i am looking forward to finding out what’s really going on with my body from the inside out.

I’m eating a lot of fruits, vegetable drinks and some nuts for protein.  My order of super foods, vitamins and supplements should be arriving soon and i’ll post it all up once i receive the order along with my results of what each of them is doing for me during the coming weeks and months.
